DeskSide Assets Terms
Please read this carefully before continuing to install.
7-day free trial · $5.99 AUD/month after
DeskSide Assets starts with a 7-day free trial — no card required up front. After the trial, the subscription is $5.99 AUD/month, billed externally from ServiceM8 via Stripe. A Manage billing link inside the add-on takes you to your Stripe billing portal.
Heads up: ServiceM8 may show an "unverified" warning
When you click install, ServiceM8 may display a warning that the add-on hasn’t been verified by them yet. That’s normal for add-ons installed directly via the developer rather than from the official ServiceM8 Add-on Store.
Always be cautious about these warnings and only accept and enable trusted add-ons. Please review our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, and if you have any questions please reach out.
Requires the ServiceM8 Asset Management addon
DeskSide Assets builds on top of ServiceM8’s native asset register. Before it can do anything useful you’ll need:
- The Asset Management addon enabled on your ServiceM8 account.
- At least one asset type configured with assets attached to client sites.
- Form templates configured if you want to run inspections from DeskSide.
If you’re not using ServiceM8 asset management yet, this add-on won’t have anything to show.
How billing works
- Every new install gets a 7-day free trial automatically — no payment required to start.
- Inside DeskSide Assets you’ll see a countdown of the days remaining and a Manage billing link.
- After the trial ends, the subscription is $5.99 AUD/month, billed through Stripe — not through your ServiceM8 invoice.
- If you don’t add billing details before the trial ends, DeskSide Assets stops opening on jobs. Your ServiceM8 assets and form responses are never affected.
- Cancel anytime from the Stripe billing portal — your ServiceM8 data is never touched.
What DeskSide Assets does — and doesn’t
- Reads the assets on the job’s client / site from ServiceM8, plus their attachments (photos) and form-response history.
- Submits new form responses against the job and asset, exactly as ServiceM8’s own asset-testing flow would.
- Doesn’t store your asset data, photos or form responses — only your subscription metadata and trial status live on Over Geek’s server.
Permissions
DeskSide Assets requests the ServiceM8 OAuth scopes it needs to read jobs, customers, assets, attachments, forms and staff, and to write new form responses and asset updates. We never share your data with anyone outside Over Geek. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Important: stop billing before you uninstall
ServiceM8 does not notify add-on developers when you uninstall an add-on. If you uninstall DeskSide Assets without first cancelling your subscription via the Stripe billing portal, your card will keep being charged.
If you’d prefer to contact us to stop billing instead of using the portal yourself, please give us a few business days’ notice before your next charge date so we can cancel it in time and avoid an unwanted charge. Reach out at [email protected].
