The building blocks
Each report is built from blocks you stack in the template builder. Here’s what each one looks like in the finished PDF. All examples use demo data, and the colours follow your brand.
A full-page branded cover to open the report.
Your title and subtitle on a solid or gradient background, with your logo, the job and site details, and your phone, email and website along the bottom. It can also show a summary of results, like Pass 4 · Fail 3, right on the cover.

Your logo or company name on the left, and the report title, job number, site, address and date on the right. Set it to repeat on every page.
Who the report is for.
The client’s name and address, plus the main contact’s name, email and phone, pulled from the job.
The key facts about the job.
A tidy list of the job fields you choose: job number, status, category, dates, address, description and work done.
The heart of an inspection report.
One card per asset of the type you choose, with its photo, name, code and asset fields, and the form filled in against it: test name, date, a coloured Pass / Fail / Defect status, the answers and any photos.
Test results that aren’t tied to an asset.
Like Asset Test, but built straight from a ServiceM8 form. Great for checks such as fire doors or site inspections, where each form response becomes its own card.
Show the fix, not just the fault.
An option on Asset Test and Form Test. Failed items get a blue Rectification panel saying what needs fixing. If it was repaired on the spot, a green panel shows what was done, and the old status is struck through next to the new one.
Results at a glance.
A table of every status, such as Pass, Fail and Defect, with counts, percentages and a total, added up across all the tests in the report.
What was on site.
A count of assets by type, with percentages and a total. Ideal as an asset register summary.
A one-glance dashboard for the whole job.
One tile per test section showing how many were tested, a tick or cross, the number of issues and the breakdown, with an Action Required or All Passed strip on top.
Your own words, anywhere in the report.
Add a heading and formatted text: a scope of works, terms and conditions, a disclaimer or notes for the client. Supports paragraphs, headings, bullet and numbered lists, bold and italics.
Total design freedom.
Build any layout you like in HTML, such as a certificate, a sign-off panel or a branded table, and drop in job fields like {{ job_number }}, {{ client_name }} or {{ completion_date }}. They’re filled in automatically on every report.
Plus two layout blocks: Page Break starts the next block on a new page, and Spacer adds a gap of any height between blocks.
