Before you install
PerMeter Terms
Please read this carefully before continuing to install.
7-day free trial · $9.99 AUD/month after
PerMeter starts with a 7-day free trial — no card required up front. After the trial, the subscription is $9.99 AUD/month per ServiceM8 company, billed externally from ServiceM8 via Over Geek. A Manage billing link inside PerMeter’s settings takes you to your billing portal.
Heads up: ServiceM8 may show an "unverified" warning
When you click install, ServiceM8 may display a warning that the add-on hasn’t been verified by them yet. That’s normal for add-ons installed directly via the developer rather than from the official ServiceM8 Add-on Store.
Always be cautious about these warnings and only accept and enable trusted add-ons. Please review our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, and if you have any questions please reach out.
Important: stop billing before you uninstall
ServiceM8 does not notify add-on developers when you uninstall an add-on. If you uninstall PerMeter without first cancelling your subscription via the Manage billing portal, your card will keep being charged.
If you’d prefer to contact us to stop billing instead of using the portal yourself, please give us a few business days’ notice before your next charge date so we can cancel it in time and avoid an unwanted charge. Reach out at [email protected].
How billing works
- Every new install gets a 7-day free trial automatically — no payment required to start.
- Inside PerMeter’s settings you’ll see a countdown of the days remaining and an Add billing / Manage billing link.
- After the trial ends, the subscription is $9.99 AUD/month per ServiceM8 company, billed through Over Geek’s billing portal — not through your ServiceM8 invoice.
- If you don’t add billing details before the trial ends, PerMeter stops letting you push new line items to jobs. Any measurements you’ve already saved on your ServiceM8 jobs are never affected.
- Cancel anytime from the Manage billing page — your ServiceM8 data is never touched.
What PerMeter does — and doesn’t
- Reads the ServiceM8 job it’s opened from, plus your account’s materials and bundles, to link zones to pricing.
- Saves the zones and materials you’ve drawn against the job so you can reopen and edit later.
- Writes billable line items straight to the ServiceM8 job’s materials.
- Attaches a summary note and a site markup depicting the area serviced (aerial imagery with your branding, zone callouts, scale bar and north arrow) to the job diary.
- Doesn’t store your ServiceM8 data on Over Geek servers beyond what’s needed to render the map and produce the line items — see our Privacy Policy for the specifics.
Permissions
PerMeter requests the ServiceM8 OAuth scopes it needs to read the current job, its client and site, read your materials and bundles, and to write materials (line items) plus attachments (the site markup and note) back to the job. We never share your data with anyone outside Over Geek. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
By clicking "I understand & install", you acknowledge:
- PerMeter starts with a 7-day free trial and then becomes a $9.99 AUD/month per ServiceM8 company subscription.
- Billing is handled externally from ServiceM8 via Over Geek — it does not affect your ServiceM8 subscription.
- Uninstalling does not cancel billing — you need to stop billing yourself via the Manage billing portal, or contact us with a few days’ notice before your next charge.
- You can cancel and uninstall at any time without losing your ServiceM8 data.
